I’m Ross Gledhill and I’m a web developer based in Glasgow, Scotland. I made my first website for my local football team 6 years ago and I’ve been doing it ever since.
In 2009, I completed my BSc Honours Degree in Computer Science at Strathclyde University. From my degree I learned a lot about the software development process, design patterns, architectures and frameworks, and all of this provided me with a solid foundation to build upon.
After university, I started as a web developer for a London-based agency called The Youth Group. The Youth Group specialise in student advertising and health & welfare awareness websites/web applications. During my time at The Youth Group, I was lucky enough to produce work for some big name clients including Microsoft, Apple, NHS Grampian, JP Morgan, NHS Swindon, MBARC and Kent Special Needs Schools.
After my time at The Youth Group, I joined Gael, a software company in East Kilbride. I now work for Gael as a senior development engineer, using the skills that I learned while working in the public sector to try to keep our products one step a head of the competition.
At the moment, I’m freelancing and in my spare time experimenting with new jQuery techniques, JavaScript frameworks and the new things that can be achieved using HTML5/CSS3. My aim is to develop novel web applications with clean and fresh user interfaces, and that perform more like their desktop counterparts.
I’m always looking for new projects. If there is something you would like me to help with, please get in touch.
Thanks for visiting my website,
- Ross
