Passion for UX design & front-end development. Over eight years web experience.
Head of Design & Definition
I am responsible for the overall design process, product requirements and user interfaces across the group’s web, mobile and desktop products that in 2016 helped to generate £22million for the company.
I lead various teams of Business Analysts, UI/UX Designers and Frontend Developers across our the Ideagen office locations. It’s our job to transform complicated domain problems into easy to understand, responsive solutions.
I work closely with Product Managers/Business Analysts to groom the backlog and liaise with Development Managers to assign resource, estimate and schedule work. I’ve structured the design team and process in such a way that we can work concurrently on projects, meeting the most challenging of deadlines. We are responsible for the requirements and design of all products within the group.
As part of managing various teams, I’m also responsible for recruitment, organising training, professional development plans and one-to-one reviews.
Freelance Web Developer
Responsible for all aspects of running the company, including the design and development of web and mobile apps. Clients have included Strathclyde University, Innate-Essence & Atlas Hire Drive.
I enjoy freelancing and experimenting on several web projects in my spare time. It’s great to get to grips with different technologies that I might not get the chance to use during office hours. When it comes to my freelance work, my Content Management System of choice is usually WordPress. It has the best community of developers and it’s so easy for my clients to use.
I’m always looking for new projects. If there is something you would like me to help with, please get in touch and let’s arrange a coffee.
